Often times my clients ask me where to purchase the training equipment I use, what dog food I recommend, and advice for further reading.
Dog Food:
I think we each make very personal decisions with regard to our dogs’ diets, whether it’s because of financial or time constraints, or due to our individual dog’s health. Instead of recommending a specific diet or brand of dog food, I highly recommend you check out Whole Dog Journal for a holistic approach and further reading about feeding your dog in general (as well as a whole host of other great dog care information).
If you want reliable, unbiased reviews of commercial dog foods, Dog Food Advisor has you covered. This is a privately-owned organization, not affiliated in any way with the pet food industry, nor do they accept any compensation for their reviews, which are honest and informative.

I like these harnesses because of the ability to attach your leash either on the dog’s chest or on his back. Also, there are plenty of adjustment points to get the best fit for your dog.
For large dogs, I recommend the following 15-foot, 1-inch wide leash:
