About Us

Over the Moon Training provides respectful, individualized instruction, using methods that promote good communication between the client and their pet.

Over the Moon was founded by LaurieAnn (Korte) Hull, CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP.

LaurieAnn received her schooling in dog training from the Karen Pryor Academy of Dog Behavior and Training, earning her certification (KPA-CTP) in 2012.

In 2015, after logging hundreds of hours of dog training experience, and sitting for a rigorous exam covering animal husbandry, ethology, instructional skills, learning theory, and training equipment, LaurieAnn earned her CPDT-KA distinction from the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT.org).

In order to keep her certifications active, LaurieAnn must earn continuing education units in the field of animal behavior and training on a regular basis.

To that end, she is a dedicated, supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC,org) and regularly attends and helps coordinate the association’s annual educational conferences.

LaurieAnn prioritizes continuing education and her involvement with these organizations in order to ensure she is instructing her clients using the most current and effective teaching and training methodologies as studied and practiced by the country’s top force-free trainers, including Patricia McConnell, Sue Sternberg and Terry Ryan.

Recently LaurieAnn also obtained her certification as a Fear Free Pet Professional, honing her skills in counter-conditioning and desensitizing pets to help lessen fear, anxiety and stress in the veterinary experience.

Returning to Oklahoma (her birthplace) in 2013, she found a community where she could practice her passions for force-free dog training and individualized instruction.

She has a particular affinity for working with families with new pets and helping with behavior modification and inter-species (human-dog, dog-cat) communication and understanding.

Over the Moon Dog Training is named for LaurieAnn’s dog, Moon-pie, a border collie/cattle dog mix. They live in Oklahoma City, with LaurieAnn’s husband, Bryan, Luna the Husky, Chevy the Havanese, and the cats, Freak and Stormy.
